Someday Baby

bob's new album cover features a man on man embrace! after over four decades the man is still at the forefront of expression and empathy for the fighting spirit. though our president is a mixed race minority, basic human rights are still not afforded to an entire community of people based on religious mumbo jumbo and archaic social standards. prop 8 in effect in the 21st century , passing on the eve of our first ever president of color - treacherous. big props to bob for lending his voice toward establishing same sex romantic images as the accepted norm. the oscars were a great moment as far as young gay kids getting to witness the acceptance speeches of sean penn and dunston lance black, hearing that they are not alone, not abnormal. A good start but obviously not enough. the gay movement, while it is a movement, is really just people. people who deserve to see themselves reflected in a positive light in the popular culture. we're all in this together - through life. word.

Joe GM Chan

i snapped this in C Town. Wo Tang.

I Shall Be Released

I've been thinking about all the friends I have who've made real innovative and striking feature films over the years only to see them sit in a can on a shelf (or under a bed).

With this in mind I propose the I Shall Be Released Film Festival - the best films you've never seen. It'd be easy - round up the filmmakers, procure the prints - screen 'em.

Leave a comment with film or venue suggestion.

We'd kick off with Brad Coley's The Undeserved [www.theundeserved.com]-which I co produced and performed in (with mohawk).

And then Joe GM Chan's Not A Day Goes By - which variety called "hal hartley minus the pretentiousness".

Shame to let good films sit idle. What are you gonna do screen Changeling again? I didn't think so.

i'll be stopping by here delivering inspired musings, motivational diatribes, poisonous bile, and lurid photos. This one was taken at a jewish female moonrite festival i was hired to shoot last year up in harlem (thanks coleys!). it's probably my favorite photo i've taken.
